This project integrated knowledge management and change management to enable the National Center for Plant and Animal Disease Prevention and Control (Weqaa) to become a flexible, learning organisation. It followed six stages: situation analysis, needs assessment, design and implementation of a knowledge management system, development of a change management plan, training of employees and evaluation of outcomes.
A. The Challenge
Weqaa lacked a structured approach to capturing and sharing knowledge and to managing organisational change. Innovation and learning were hindered by siloed information and resistance to change.
B. Our Solution
We developed an integrated framework combining knowledge management and change management. A knowledge management system was designed and implemented, a change plan was developed and staff were trained to adopt new practices. Governance structures ensured sustainability and continuous improvement.
C. Key Achievements
The organisation now has a central knowledge repository, clear change processes and improved adaptability. Employees share insights and adopt best practices more readily, fostering innovation and higher productivity.
