This project established a data management and governance office for the General Authority for Competition. It aligned practices with the National Data Management Office (NDMO) policies and the Data Management Association (DAMA) framework. The initiative developed governance structures, data policies, methodologies, operational models and strategy, and trained authority staff to ensure data quality, compliance and improved decision-making.
A. The Challenge
The authority lacked an integrated data governance system to comply with national standards, manage growing data assets, and ensure quality and accessibility for analytics.
B. Our Solution
The team created a data management office, defined policies and procedures aligned with NDMO and DAMA standards, established a data catalog and governance structures, integrated technical tools, and trained employees to build internal capacity.
C. Key Achievements
A functioning data governance office was launched; comprehensive policies, strategies and a data roadmap were delivered; staff capability and awareness improved; and compliance with national data requirements was achieved.
