This project develops regional and global trust lists for digital trust services to ensure cross‑border recognition of digital identities and signatures. It reviews existing trust frameworks, designs technical and governance models for publishing trusted service providers, and coordinates with international bodies to align standards. The project includes building an automated platform to maintain and share trust lists.
A. The Challenge
Lack of harmonised trust lists hindered recognition of Saudi digital signatures and certificates abroad. Fragmented national lists and differing standards limited interoperability and user confidence.
B. Our Solution
We analysed regional and international trust schemes, defined common criteria and governance rules and created a federated trust list model. We developed a secure platform that publishes verified service providers and integrates with international networks, while establishing policies for maintenance and compliance.
C. Key Achievements
Saudi Arabia now operates internationally recognised trust lists, enhancing cross‑border digital transactions. The lists improve interoperability, boost user confidence and support the country’s digital economy. The project also strengthened cooperation with regional and global trust frameworks.
